Hello ladies!
I went on a trip to Goa last summer. It was really very refreshing and relaxing, but my ‘new skin’ from Goa gave me some really hard time after that. I started my extensive research on how to improve my skin’s sustainability through different seasons and that is how I stumbled upon innumerous benefits of glycerine.
Glycerine basically is a mixture of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon. It is colourless in appearance and thick in consistency. It has absolute no smell. From time to time, glycerine has been used in beauty products and trust me it works wonders!
As A Cleanser
• Mix a little milk with glycerine in the ratio 3:1.
• Apply to your face and leave it on overnight.
• Wash it off in the morning.
As A Toner
• Mix glycerine with rose water in the ratio of 1:6.
• Dab it on your face after cleansing.
You can store this into a bottle, preferably a spray bottle and use it with the help of cotton ball.
As A Moisturizer For Dry Skin
• Mix glycerine and honey in equal ratio.
• Make a mixture of 1 tsp Vitamin E oil, 1 tsp Vaseline and 1 tsp glycerine.
• Apply on face or body 30 minutes before taking a shower.
I had religiously done this during December and trust me, after the shower, skin feels so soft and moisturized that you need not apply any body lotion immediately.
For Smooth Skin
Glycerine can be used for skin smoothening too. One can apply it to the elbows and knees to reduce dry patches and roughness. Many a times we see that the men in our house are not readily willing to use any beauty products. I mean in my personal opinion, be it a female or a male, everyone requires products to take care of their skin. The drying of elbows and knees and the ankle bone that starts looking like camel skin is very prominent in men. Glycerine application can help reduce that to a great extent as well.
As An Anti Ageing Treatment
I have heard about various uses of glycerine for anti-ageing and have tried it a bit on my mother too. She has been using glycerine in all of her face packs for the past 7 months. She has experienced following changes:
• Tightening of her facial skin.
• Newly induced softness and glow.
• Also, good effects on her crow’s feet which seem to have been reduced.
The effects of Glycerine for anti-ageing will not be evident immediately, but yes the results will surely become visible in sometime.
As A Blackheads Buster
I really hate blackheads, but who doesn’t? So, I have started using multani mitti(fuller’s earth) and ground almonds with glycerine as a pack for my blackheads. This pack has reduced my blackheads considerably!
• Mix multani mitti and ground almonds in the ratio 1:4.
• Add 1 tsp glycerine to it.
• Apply the pack on your blackheads.
• Rinse off once it gets dried, minimum after 10-15 minutes with cold water.
As An Effective Treatment For Hair
Using Glycerine on hair makes them super shiny and soft. It also reduces frizz.
• Mix 1 tbsp well beaten castor oil with 1 tsp glycerine and 1 tsp cider vinegar.
• Add this to your shampoo when you wash your hair and massage thoroughly on your scalp.
Also, while researching on glycerine, I came across the benefits that it imparts to acne prone skin. Since I do not have acne troubles, I was not able to test it.
Hope this post enlightens you about the usage and benefits of glycerine and don’t forget to share your tips in the comments section!
