Hi ladies,
An oil treatment is the best when it comes to growth of your tresses. There are numerous hair oils in the market that claim to promote faster hair growth. Some of them may work for you while some of them might not! But there is one oil that actually shows benefits and that is, undoubtedly, castor oil! Let’s find out what makes this oil really unique.
Presence of Ricinoleic acid
Castor oil contains almost 90% of Ricinoleic acid. It is an Omega-9 fatty acid. This acid is known to penetrate deep into the scalp which makes this oil excellent for faster hair growth.
Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and antiviral properties
Castor oil possesses all these wonderful qualities which make it ideal for tackling all those scalp related issues like dandruff, folliculitis, thinning of hair or bald patches for that matter.
It is moisture rich oil
It means this oil might be heavy in consistency but it works excellent in moisturizing and conditioning the hair which gives your hair strands the silky smooth texture without weighing them down. This oil is also ideal for people with dry scalp issues.
Balances pH of the scalp
We all know how important it is to have a balanced pH level of the scalp and castor oil helps in achieving that easily. Castor oil helps replenish the scalp’s natural oils and undo the damages caused by harsh chemical hair products which sometimes hinder the hair growth.
Rich in antioxidants
Castor oil has various antioxidants in it which makes it ideal for achieving stronger, smoother and less frizzy hair with few uses. Antioxidants also help to increase the keratin level in the scalp and hair follicles.
Let’s find what ways to use castor oil in various hair treatments:
Hot oil treatment
Hot oil treatment, done with any kind of oil, can do wonders for you. All you need is to slightly warm the castor oil and massage it into your hair, wrap your hair in a towel and leave for half an hour or overnight! Wash and condition as usual. Hot oil treatment will penetrate your scalp well and increase the hair growth.
Castor oil with coconut oil
Coconut oil penetrates right into the shaft and has Lauric acid which cures the scalp issues and promotes the growth of healthy hair. So, it is a great oil to pair with castor oil. You can warm these two oils a little and apply on your hair and scalp, and then wash and condition as usual.
Castor-jojoba oil concoction
This is the best mixture to increase circulation to the scalp which will increase the hair growth in no time. Use 3:1 ratio of castor oil to jojoba oil and apply on your scalp at least twice a week for maximum benefits.
With essential oils
You can increase the efficiency of castor oil by mixing it with essential of your choice. The best one would be rosemary essential oil as this oil is known to stimulate hair growth. You can mix a little quantity of the rosemary essential with castor oil and use it to massage your hair and scalp.
