Hey everyone!
Hope you all are enjoying the monsoons. Kolkata this year is experiencing a lot of rains and personally I’m thoroughly enjoying it. However, there’s a downside to this lovely weather and that is dandruff. With increasing humidity in the air, my scalp has started behaving really strange. My dandruff seems to have returned and my scalp feels itchy quite often. I had previously reviewed the VLCC Dandruff Control Shampoo. While it worked perfectly for my hair, my bored self was looking for a change and hence I thought of going for Biotique. So let’s see how this one fared.
Product Description:
• Eliminates the dryness, flaking and itching associated with dandruff
• Leaves hair fresh, lustrous and full of natural body
Price:
INR 149 for 200ml.
My Experience with Biotique Bio Margosa Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner:
The shampoo comes in handy, see through, plastic bottle with a dark green flip cap which is typical of the brand Biotique. The cap closes quite tightly and can easily be carried around for trips. Overall, the packaging is pretty decent and sturdy for the price and it has all the product details mentioned at the back, which is a plus.
The shampoo has a lovely fragrance which lasts for at least two days post the wash. While I quite like the fragrance, I was somehow looking for a bit more natural and soothing fragrance as the brand claims to be full-fledged herbal. The texture of the shampoo is on the thicker side and is quite opaque and creamy in consistency and has a mint green colour to it which I guess is because of the ‘margosa’ present in it. Due to its thick consistency, diluting the shampoo becomes a must otherwise it doesn’t spread well through the scalp.
It lathers really well and is very easy to wash off. The scalp feels squeaky clean post the head wash and the hair feels relatively smooth, silky and shiny and that I guess is because of the conditioner present in it. It has also helped in keeping my monsoon dandruff under control and gives a cooling sensation to the scalp which keeps the itchiness at bay. Generally, I have always found anti-dandruff shampoos to be harsh on the hair and they make the hair rough, but with this one my hair looks super nourished. So, I can safely say that it has pretty much lived to its claims and yay for that.
Summing up the pros and cons,
Pros of Biotique Bio Margosa Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner:
• Affordable
• Easily available
• Sturdy and functional packaging
• Contains very few chemicals
• Gives soft, shiny and lustrous hair
• Keeps dandruff under control
• Gives the scalp a cooling sensation and keeps itchiness at bay
Cons of Biotique Bio Margosa Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner:
• Consistency is a little too thick
IMBB Rating:
4/5
Overall, I super liked this shampoo as it lived upto its claims really well which is rarely seen. It really helped in controlling my dandruff and the annoying itchiness of my scalp. And, at the same time it gave me pretty hair without causing much damage or hair loss. Generally, I have seen that Biotique products are either a total hit or a complete miss and this one belongs to former category. I wouldn’t recommend it to everybody as this brand doesn’t suit everybody. But, for girls who have previously been benefitted by this brand, do give this shampoo and conditioner a shot if you are facing dandruff issues. I promise you wouldn’t be disappointed!
