Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse Review

Hey Guys,

I am trying to grow my hair out and plan on skipping haircuts and trims for the next few months. In the meantime, I needed something that would heal and conceal the split ends in my hair. I am a big fan of Nexxus’ ProMend Heat Protection Spray and decided to add some other products from the ProMend range to my hair styling routine.

Nexxus+Pro+Mend+Split+End+Binding+Bodifying+Mousse+Review Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse Review

Product Background and Description:

Nexxus is one of America’s leading salon hair care brands. It was founded over 30 years ago, in 1979, by father-son duo Jheri and Stephen Redding (who also created the brand Redken in 1960). Today, the company operates under a different owner and the Nexxus brand has grown to be synonymous with salon quality hair care.

Nexxus’ ProMend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse (whew, the name is quite a mouthful) “is a revolutionary volumizing mousse that binds split ends back together during the styling process, allowing you to get a gorgeously full look every day.” It “repairs split end damaged strands for a gorgeously full look that lasts all day.”  The mousse is packaged in an aluminum can which looks very sleek and modern. It has a blue plastic cap and the pump to dispense out the mousse is made of plastic too. The Nexxus logo is featured prominently on the can.

Nexxus Mousse 2 Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse Review

My Experience with Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse:

I have dry hair that splits easily. I use heat to style my hair on a daily basis now, which causes more split ends. To hide and fix these split ends, I picked two products from Nexxus’ ProMend line – this mousse and a leave-in cream. My hair isn’t thin, I would say it’s of medium thickness, but I have been losing a lot of hair from my crown ever since I got it permanently straightened (once in 2007 and another time in 2010, no plans for 2013!).

I decided it would be interesting to try the bodifying mousse, since I have never used a hair product that was bodifying or a mousse before.

Nexxus Mousse 3 Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse Review

I usually work the mousse into my hair when it’s wet along with a hair serum/oil and blow dry the hair straight with a large paddle brush. I then flat iron my hair just to smooth it out. The first thing that I noticed when using this product is how well it coats the strands. While blow drying, my hair feels thicker and I have to use a little more effort to pull it down and run the dryer over it.

Nexxus Mousse 5 Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse Review

After blow drying, my hair is noticeably thicker and shinier. The ends do look a little dry, but I have to look very carefully to find split ends. After running a flat iron through sections of my hair, it looks shiny, healthy, thick and with no split ends in sight. I haven’t seen my split ends “heal,” nor do I expect it. However, this mousse binds the ends giving the appearance of no splits in my hair.

Nexxus Mousse 4 Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse Review

The best part about this product is that it works for up to two days on me. My hair doesn’t go flat the next day after styling, nor does it go back to its old wavy self until I wet it. This, for me, was a big surprise as it completely eliminates the need for a hair spray or gel. A downside of the product is that it doesn’t smell very pleasant on my hair. It smells really good when I pump it out, but totally like dead fish while I am blow drying my hair! This smell, however, disappears pretty soon.  Another downside is that this product is not available in India. I looked on a couple of shopping websites too and couldn’t find it! Nexxus makes some really amazing hair products and it would be nice if they expand to India soon.

Pros of Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse:

  • Binds the split-ends and gives hair a healthy look.
  • Adds a lot of body to the hair.
  • Holds hair in place, even in humidity for up to two days.
  • Makes hair shiny.
  • Decent price for the quality.
  • Sleek, modern, packaging.

Cons of Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Bodifying Mousse:

  • Funky smell when I style my hair.

Aloe Vera and Coconut Oil Hair Pack for Damaged Hair

By Sandhya Purohit

Hello Everyone,

This is my first article on IMBB and I am quite excited about the same. I have been following this blog from the last 6 months and have found it to be one of the best makeup blogs on the net.  Today, I will give you a sure shot formula for getting soft and silky hair if you have got dry and damaged hair. I have learnt this pack from my mom and I would always be grateful to my mom for this pack as it is a great remedy for dry and damaged hair, the common problem faced by me during and after the winter season.  I love aloe vera as it’s a great gift from nature.

Ingredients Required:

  • Aloe vera – one thick leaf.
  • Three table spoons of Coconut Oil (I use Parachute Coconut Oil).

Aloe+Vera+and+Coconut+Oil+Hair+Pack+for+Damaged+Hair Aloe Vera and Coconut Oil Hair Pack for Damaged Hair

How To Make:

Step 1:

Wash aloe vera leaf properly to get rid of all dirt and germs on it. It’s important to maintain hygiene in every skin or hair care routine.

Step 2:

Remove the thorns on the side of leaf with the help of clean knife or scissors.

Step 3:

Cut the leaf into small pieces as shown in the image.

Step 4:

Now, make puree of the pieces in the mixture.  Now, I know what’s going in your mind. You must be wondering why I have made a mixture of the whole leaf instead of just extracting the gel of aloe vera. The reason is that the outer part of aloe vera leaf has anti-bacterial quality, which helps to reduce scalp acne, dandruff, etc.

Step 5:

Now, put the coconut oil in the puree and mix it well.

Coconut Oil Aloe Vera and Coconut Oil Hair Pack for Damaged Hair

Step 6:

Now, it’s the time of application. Take hair in sections and coat every strand of hair and apply the pack properly and cover the hair with a shower cap.

Step 6:

Wash the hair after 1.5 to 2 hours with a shampoo and condition it.

Yes, it’s done. You will surely feel a great difference in your hair and you would get hair that you would want to caress.

Aloe Aloe Vera and Coconut Oil Hair Pack for Damaged Hair

Variations:

1. Some may not like the smell of this pack. They can add a few drops of essential oil into the pack.

2. If you have hair fall problem or have less hair volume, you can mix a paste of fenugreek seeds which have been soaked overnight into the pack.  Fenugreek seeds help to solve hair fall problem and help to add volume to hair.

3. Paste of neem leaves can also be added to the pack if you have scalp acne or lice problem.

4. Curd can be added to the pack if you have dandruff problem.

Using this pack on a regular basis will surely help you to have naturally shiny and healthy hair.

Note: One can use aloe vera gels available in market in the pack, but I advice that natural plant should only be used as it doesn’t contain any colour or preservative and is 100% natural.

Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo 3 Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo Review

My Take on Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo:

The worst purchase I have ever made! No, the product itself is not that bad, but I paid a ridiculous price for THAT! I don’t know what I was thinking when I purchased this.  I was in search of a dry shampoo during winters. I go to gym every day and during winters, I cannot wash my hair often because I fall sick easily. Earlier, I used to apply normal talcum powder + baking soda, but when I saw that Lush had launched a dry shampoo, I happily just went and purchased it.

Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo 4 Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo Review

The bottle comes in a flip top bottle just like the ones in which we get shampoo/shower gels. I was expecting a more talcum powder like bottle (bottle with several holes in a circle). The problem is that a lot of powder just pops on your hand in one go when you tip the bottle. It leads to product wastage :( You have to be really careful and gentle, else you will end up with more product than you require. I take the powder in my palm and apply it to my hair and scalp. Let it be there for a minute or two and then brush it off with a comb/brush.  Or in a hurry, just sift my hair with hands. I must say it does absorb all the sweat and grease. The hair smells like a bunch of lemons. But my hair looks a bit limp-y and dry. Also, this product leaves white cast on the hair and you really need to brush well to remove the extra powder. I am going back to my talcum powder + baking soda routine till I find a good affordable alternative.

Pros of Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo:

  • Absorbs sweat and oil efficiently.
  • Hair smells wow! in an instant.
  • Vegan product.

Cons of Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo:

  • EXPENSIVE!
  • Product wastage because of the bottle design.
  • Leaves a white cast on hair if not brushed thoroughly.
  • Leaves hair limp-y.

Richfeel Hair Repair Serum

Hey Guyssssss…

I’m back with another Richfeel review, this time it is the hair serum’s turn. Sprinting straight to the business! One thing that I do not like about Richfeel products is that they do not mention ingredient list on their products. I genuinely feel it is not fair! I mean common it is our right to know what are we putting on our mane.

Ok complaint bandh review shurum0447 Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review

Richfeel+Hair+Repair+Serum Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review

Price: Rs. 510 for 42 ml – There are 6 small tubes in the box, each 7ml.

My experience with Richfeel Hair Repair Serum:

I have been using this serum on and off for about 3 years now. This was a part of the product that was recommended to me for my treatment. But I liked it a lot and again during the sale as mentioned in my earlier review of the conditioner I purchased an extra box of this as well m0447 Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review (OK I was just excited thik hai! m0447 Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review )
Well even with the complaint I must say that I really like this hair serum. It made my hair very soft when used just after shower on damp hair. It makes my hair look soft and flowy with less frizz. But I need a lot of amount to get the results. May be because I have long hair and also because my hair is dry.

Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review
This was the first serum that I ever used in life, and naturally was happy with the results as any serum, be it good or bad would make your hair feel smooth. So did this, my entire first box of this was a hit for my hair. But I being not so loyal and a shopaholic kept on buying other brands serum as well, but I always came back to this. Even the second box is a hit! So this was worth being silly and getting more than 1 product  *happydance*
Also I must mention, that this works best only on damp hair, if I use it on completely dry hair this does not give me the same results.
Packaging:

Richfeel Hair Repair Serum 4 Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review
This serum comes in a small rectangle box, which has 6 small tubes of it. Each tube is 7 ml. The small tubes are like ear/nose drops that you get at the medical store. You have to punch a hole in the tube for the product to come out. 1 tube lasts me a month as I have to use a lot of amount.
Texture and smell:
This is a transparent liquid serum. It really feels of silicone as it is very slippery. But I do not have any proof as no ingredient list remember?! But every time I use it I feel I’m applying lots of silicone to my hair. But what to do after seeing the results I get carried away! m0447 Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review This is again a no fragrance product just a mild medicinal smell may be; almost negligible.
Summary time!

Pros  of Richfeel Hair Repair Serum:

• Makes hair super soft and smooth.
• Controls frizz.
• Entire box lasts me around 5-6 months.
• It is from a reputed brand so must be safe (that’s what I keep telling myself).
• Reasonable I feel as it does what it claims and also lasts long.
• The effect stays for the entire day.

Richfeel Hair Repair Serum 3 Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review

Cons of Richfeel Hair Repair Serum:

• NO Ingredient list mentioned (biggest con for me).
IMBB Rating:

3.5/5 (-1.5 for not mentioning the ingredient list)

Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Richfeel Hair Repair Serum?
Yes if you are ok with no ingredient list thing, then it is a must try!
I’m confooosssedd ! m0447 Richfeel Hair Repair Serum Review I really like the product, but not mentioning ingredients is really bothering me. I might find a product that gives me same or better results. Actually I’ve almost found it shall be reviewing soon: D

Dove Elixir Nourished Shine

Hey lovelies!!

Every one of us has heard about Argan oil and its miracles for hair. I was in constant search for Argan oil but well; it is not easily available in India. I had heard about its miracle like effects on frizzy hair and strengthening the hair.
So around a few months back, there was this really catchy advertisement on the TV with “nani teri morni ko…” and this was it! I knew I had to get it when I saw the words Argan oil on the elixir m0447 Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review
Dove being a company of high repute, I needn’t give it a second thought. I straight away placed an order and got it the next day mean Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review
Dove+Elixir+Nourished+Shine Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review
I got the nourished shine variety which has hibiscus oil and Argan oil in it.

Description:
We have heard since our childhood that oiling hair is the best remedy to take care of all the possible hair damages. From our grandmother to our mother, everyone preached this practise, we never took it seriously. However, there is one brand, Dove, that took it sincerely and crafted this hair oil. Made for both men and women, this nourishing hair oil will do its best to protect your hair and make it beautiful. Organic in nature, this Dove Elixir Oil takes care of hair damage and keeps your hair lively. With active natural ingredients such as argan oil and hibiscus, this hair oil is sure to do some magic to your tresses in just 30 minutes unlike the conventional overnight oiling.

Dove Elixir Nourished Shine 5 Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review
The healing properties of hibiscus and argan oil make your hair soft and nourished and provide luminosity to your hair. Argan oil retains moisture in your hair, thus, treating dryness and making it supple and smooth. The brilliant blend of hibiscus and Argan oil transforms into this Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Hair Oil and gives you the best nurture possible

*Vs. coconut oil

Ingredients

There is sunflower oil, sesame oil, almond oil, olive oil, palm oil and rose besides Argan oil and hibiscus oil.
It contains 16% w/w vegetable oil and 78% w/w mineral oil.
Type of material: Type 3 hair oil. (I don’t know what this means, let me know if you do mean Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review )

Directions

• Applied Before Washing: hair is soft and nourished.
• Applied After Washing: helps protect your hair from damage.
• Indulge your tresses with the replenishing qualities of Elixir 30 minutes before your hair wash.

Price: 185/- INR for 90 ml.
Dove Elixir Nourished Shine 3 Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review

My experience with Dove Elixir Nourished Shine:

The bottle looks very classy and pretty. It has these dried petals if hibiscus floating freely in the oil, makes you want to shake it again and again evil grin Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review  It has a pump dispenser. Now this was new, a pump dispenser for what was thought to be a kind of oil. If you have used the matrix opti-care serum, the pump mechanism is exactly like that. I feel this is a good concept for oil bottles. Not to mention the transparent glass bottle.
It smells like a floral serum. That’s the first thing that comes to my mind when I sniff this. It isn’t a long lasting smell but you enjoy it while you are putting it into your hair. The consistency of the oil is really lightweight and non sticky. I like to take around 4-5 pumps and work into my hair. I concentrate it on the ends of my hair, which need all the healing, and treatment as it claims.
It absorbs into the hair somewhat and doesn’t make your hair look really greasy so that’s a thumbs up for this oil.
Now I don’t really see it working on its claims of being better than regular oils. I mean it does work as a normal oil and washes off pretty easily unlike the regular oils, but I don’t really see any drastic change. My hair feels the same as it would, if I had used any regular oil.

So my mother tried this one fine day and what she did basically was, she put it along the ends of her hair like a leave in serum. She has really dry and brittle ends, and this literally took away the frizz and dryness. After a few hours it looked as if she hadn’t put anything at all and the hair looked so much better. Since then, I like to use a little bit of it in the ends of my hair like a leave in treatment when my hair is extra dry. Though I am disappointed, it did not live up to its claim of providing nourished shine.
So in all, I don’t think you need this if you’re looking for a regular champi oil. I mean there are better inexpensive options available in the market. But if you have dry hair, you may use this as a leave in treatment.

Dove Elixir Nourished Shine 2 Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review
This may be good for ladies with oily hair as they would want to avoid all the greasiness which the regular oils impart. Moms would want to use this on their kids hair as they tend to run away from oiling their hair because of the chip chip evil grin Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review

PS. I love the little detailing near the bottom which says “Love your hair” mean Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review

Pros Dove Elixir Nourished Shine:

1. Pretty packaging with flower petals.
2. Pump dispenser.
3. Smells Great.
4. Contains goodness of hibiscus oil and Argan oil.
5. Non sticky light formula.
6. Good for oily hair beauties and children.
7. Can be used as a leave in treatment for dry hair types.
8. Inexpensive.
9. Easily available.

Cons of Dove Elixir Nourished Shine:

1. They could have mentioned the contents in detail.
2. Bottle is not travel friendly as it may leak.

Do I recommend Dove Elixir Nourished Shine?
If you have oily hair or you want a good leave in treatment for dry hair.

Will I repurchase Dove Elixir Nourished Shine?
Probably, but would like to try the other varieties in the same range mean Dove Elixir Nourished Shine Review

How to Stay Hydrated in Summers

Summer has arrived with its full force now. The rising temperatures does leave a person feeling fatigued and tired often, the best thing you can do to beat the heat is to stay hydrated. Don’t wait for symptoms of dehydration like extreme thirst, dry mouth, and headache to act and take you in the world of dizziness, headaches, cramping and fatigue.

summers best hydrating foods How to Stay Hydrated in Summers

Here are few ways to stay hydrated and healthy during summers this year.

• Hog on foods that are filled with water such as watermelon which contains 90% water and also essential electrolytes that the body needs for nerve and brain function. Other fruits like grapes and berries are also a refreshing way to stay hydrated in summers.

• Sip coconut water whenever you can to keep dehydration at bay. Considered as the best liquid for hydration it contains a host of vitamins and minerals which apart from keeping dehydration at bay helps you get flawless hair & skin too.

coco1 How to Stay Hydrated in Summers

• Munch on salad that contains raw veggies like cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, and zucchini as they contain loads of water which will keep you hydrated during the day.

• Fresh citrus fruits such as orange, grapefruits, lemon and lime are excellent as they not only hydrate the body but also provide valuable nutrients.

• Take a break from coffee this summer and sip the benefits of green tea. Enjoy it with lemon, as it will keep the body from retaining water. Herbal iced teas are also great thirst quenchers.

• Avoid alcohol and aerated drinks as they dehydrate your body.

• Add high-quality sea salt in your food as it is rich in trace minerals, which is good for cell health and hydration. Sea salt is also lower in sodium than table salt.

• Keep a bottle of water within your easy reach while you are relaxing in front of the television or working on the computer. Take regular sips even if you are not feeling thirsty to stay hydrated and avoid dehydration problems like dizziness, headache, muscle weakness or cramping, sunken eyes, tiredness etc.

• If you exercising or playing outdoors in the heat, take regular breaks and drink a sports beverage like Gatorade-it contains important electrolytes that are commonly lost when you perspire and gives your muscles energy from the carbohydrate content. The sodium content helps retain those fluids in your body longer, thus promoting hydration.

Never try to over exert yourself in extreme heat, if you aren’t habituated to it. Eat properly, drink plenty of fluids and most important-listen to your body to stay fit and safe from heat related health risks.

Deepika Garg asks:

Hi IMBB

I am regular reader of your blog (more than regular I guess. I read you guys all the time – office, home, when outside then on my phone) and love all the informtion I get from the reviews and the amazing DIYs. I feel like I am doing a degree in the Beauty World!! I am addicted to IMBB, Faux Pass, and Miss Fit!

Anyway, without taking anymore of your time, let me straight come to my question -

How do I judge what hair products to use for myself? What type of hair are mine? Is hair type classified like skin type?

With skin, I have gradually started understanding (thanks to IMBB – I read.. Read like mad now about skin and related products & skin care regime). But with hair I am stil clueless.

Actually I read the review on Organix Mandarin Olive Oil Shampoo and started reaching for Organix products and then looked for reviews on IMBB (obviously) and then got confused as to which of the following will be better for my hair:

1) Organix Mandarian Olive Oil Range.
2) Organix brazilian keratin therapy Range
3) Organix Cocomut milk Range.
4) Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Range.

I have long and thick hair. My hair gets oily really easily – I mean just one workout and they are done as if I have poured oil on my scalp. I have been using L’Oreal Professional Series – Absolute Repair, but I am bored of it and really want to change soon.

Please help!

Thanks!!

Natural Ways to Straighten Hair at Home, Without the Heat

Hello ladies

Writing after a really long time. Hope the entire team of IMBB gangster girls are in the pink of health.

We, women, have always wanted flawless hair, like those of the models that we see in the TV in the shampoo/hair products advertisements.

Their pin straight hair has always made us spell bound and we watched them with our jaws dropped. Many women long for straight hair; although wavy is currently dictating the fashion bazaar, because they look so pretty, and seem without and any frizz and fly-always. But, hair straightening is a whole lot of pain in the behind because, chemical straightening is very expensive, not to leave out keratin protein treatment as well. And maintaining them is like a huger bummer…it doesn’t only stop at that, those chemicals might not suit you and you may end up with really damaged hair. We all have straightner’s and blow driers at home, using too much heat is also very unhealthy for hair.

But actually you can get straight and frizz free hair naturally at home, with ingredients available in your kitchen, and most importantly, without any HEAT.

1. Cold milk: Cold milk is one of the most renowned means to get straight hair at hair naturally.

How do you do it:

• Boil milk and cool it down buy storing it in the refrigerator
• Pour it in a spray bottle
• Section your damp (previously shampooed) hair in parts and spray it all over. Make sure every strand is covered
• Comb all the sections thoroughly
• Keep it on for 30-45mins
• Rinse it off with a mild shampoo, followed by a daily use conditioner
• It’ll not only give you straight hair but will also add substantial moisture

2. Castor oil

It’s the easiest to use.

• All you need to do is apply castor oil all over your hair, covering each strand.
• Wrap it in a towel, you might blow dry from over the towel, although it’s optional, but that helps the oil to be absorbed better.

castor oil and bean Natural Ways to Straighten Hair at Home, Without the Heat

• Keep it for 45-1hr (best if kept overnight).
• Shampoo it with a mild shampoo.
• Apply conditioner

3. Cold blow

For cold blowing all you need is a table fan, and a paddle brush.

• Shampoo you hair, condition it
• Apply serum/leave-ins
• Now turn your table fan on, in the highest mode ,
• Section your hair into two parts and bring each around the two shoulders
• sit with your one side towards the fan
• Now comb the hair on the side of the fan with the paddle brush continuously ,with the fan on .
• Be gentle
• Make sure your hair is tangle free.

4. Paddle brush: Paddle brush alone is a very good means to straighten your hair at home without heat. No matter whichever above option you choose, or doesn’t, paddle brush would always help in having your hair more straightened.

5. Coconut milk and lemon: These two are a golden pair went it comes to hair-health. Adds moisture, cleans dirt and build up, straighten and moisturizes hair and what not!!

• Take coconut milk according to your hair length /volume
• Add a whole lemon to it
• Mix it well and out it in the refrigerator. Allow it to cool down for 20mins
• Apply all over your hair.
• Keep for an hour
• Rinse it off with a mild shampoo, condition as usual.

Points to be noted:

I. All these above mentioned methods have been tried by me. They don’t give you a pin straight hair but it makes hair relatively straighter than before.

II. Weekly or fortnightly usage (of methods 1,2,5) would be beneficial for your hair in retaining moisture, making it shinier and healthier.

III. Point no.2 and 4 could be used after implementing any above mentioned methods.

IV. While towel drying hair, DO NOT rub it against your hair. Just dab it all over so as to have all the excess water soaked. Rubbing your hair against towel while wet, makes hair frizzy and becomes more prone to breakage.

Hope this post was useful.

See you next time girls.
Stay happy stay beautiful.

Hibiscus Hair Mask for Hairfall: DIY

Hola Ladies

Today I will be sharing a DIY hair mask which I have been using for quite some time for hairfall. It is summer and I face a severe hairfall due to dust and pollution. We all know how good hibiscus is for hair and how well it can treat hairfall. Not only its leaves but also the flower is very beneficial in reducing hairfall. This DIY is a simple 3-step process.

Process step 4 Hibiscus Hair Mask for Hairfall: DIY

Things you will need:

• Red hibiscus flower
• Yogurt
• Rosemary EO ( you can choose lavender or ylang ylang too)
• Clean bowl/spoon

Hibiscus Hair Mask2 Hibiscus Hair Mask for Hairfall: DIY

Process:

Step 1: To make the hibiscus powder, take some flowers and dry them in the sun for 2 days without allowing moisture to ingress. Once the flower dries the crush the flower petals and then further grind them to make a fine powder.

Step 2: Now take 3 big tablespoon of yogurt in a clean bowl and add 1 tablespoon of hibiscus powder. You will see the powder releasing pink color. Now add 3-4 drops of rosemary EO.

Step 3: Mix everything well and keep it aside for a minute till the hibiscus powder releases its color and makes the mixture slight pink in color. Now the mixture is ready to use.

This mask is something I swear to when it comes to hairfall as hibiscus helps in reducing hairfall, yogurt provides nourishment to your lifeless hair and rosemary promotes hair growth and strengthens them.

Trust me it is very effective. Use it twice in a week and you will notice a nice shine and fullness in your hair.

P.S: If you do not have essential oils, you can use any other hair oil like coconut, olive or almond.

Hope this was helpful!! Until next time stay beautiful.

My Experience with Boots Ingredients Coconut & Almond Intensive Hair Treatment :

Boots Coconut Almond Intensive Hair Treatment 3 Boots Coconut & Almond Intensive Hair Treatment Review
I needed a deep treatment conditioner for my hair because of the super dryness caused by my sulfate-free shampoo. And when it comes to deep nourishment what is better than coconut and almond to treat you hair.
The product comes in a sturdy clear jar (you can see the leftover product which is a good part). The moment I opened up the lid I instantly got a strong whiff of coconut smell which I love to the core. The smell stays on for 1 day long and I love the feeling when you keep smelling them all the time.I used it 2 times in a week. I use around a scoop’s worth and leave it in my hair for 10-15 minutes depending on the day after letting my hair dry for some time.

When I wash the product off my hair, I can feel the difference immediately. My hair feels so much silkier and soft to touch. It leaves my hair completely tangle-free and makes it so much easier to comb through. Recently, I’ve been leaving my hair to dry naturally. It makes my hair much shinier and healthier without weighing my hair down at all.

Clear Nourishing Women Soft and Shiny Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

Hello Ladies,

I am back with another shampoo review. I have oily scalp with a severe case of dandruff. I tried many products, solutions to get rid of dandruff but nothing worked like this shampoo. I am using this shampoo for quite long time and here is my review about it.

Product Description:

Clear Anti DandruffShampoo Clear Nourishing Women Soft and Shiny Anti Dandruff Shampoo Review

Scalp Fact- The scalp is the foundation of beautiful hair. That’s why we developed NUTRIUM 10, a deep nourishing formula that makes hair stronger, more beautiful.

How Nutrium 10 Works:

• Less breakage/split ends vs. non conditioning shampoo
• Associate with dandruff. **At epidermal level.

Directions to use: Apply to wet hair, massage into scalp, Rinse. For best results, repeat the process and use every day. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with water and if irritation persists contact physician.

Price: Rs. 139 for 200ml

Clear AntiDandruff Shampoo Clear Nourishing Women Soft and Shiny Anti Dandruff Shampoo Review

Packaging: The shampoo comes in an opaque, white-colored rectangular bottle. The bottle has a flip-open cap which closes tightly thus making it travel friendly. It is difficult to judge the exact amount of shampoo left inside the bottle.

My Experience with Clear Nourishing Women Soft and Shiny Anti-Dandruff Shampoo:

I have this dandruff problem since childhood. It never got solved even though I used many home made nuskhes. I tried many things but nothing worked. And then I found this one and my hunt stopped here. Clear Anti-Dandruff shampoo was effective for me from very first wash. I used it as per the instructions on the bottle, I took a small amount and applied on my wet hair and massaged it on my scalp, then rinsed and repeated the process again. Dandruff was pretty much gone. I started using this shampoo twice a week initially and then as the condition of my scalp improved i cut it to once a week. With few washes the dandruff was completely gone. But again after 2-3 weeks dandruff was back so I started using this product again and I am very happy with the results.

It makes enough foam and little quantity is required for me. It gets rinsed off pretty easily. It has very mild, sweet fragrance which does not linger. After rinsing, hair has no smell at all. It can effectively remove hair oil. My hair was softer after every use.

I don’t even use conditioner after using this shampoo as hair are already smoothened but this can be in my case only as I have silky and straight hair. So can’t comment much on that. Overall a nice and effective anti-dandruff shampoo.

Clear Anti Dandruff Shampoo Clear Nourishing Women Soft and Shiny Anti Dandruff Shampoo Review

Pros of Clear Nourishing Women Soft and Shiny Anti-Dandruff Shampoo:

• Very effective on dandruff from first wash.
• Nice, travel friendly packaging
• Non-overpowering, non-lingering smell
• Makes hair soft
• Doesn’t require conditioner

Cons of Clear Nourishing Women Soft and Shiny Anti-Dandruff Shampoo:

• Results are not long lasting for me but I would say best product.

Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair

Hello IMBB Ladies!

Wishing everyone a lovely day and NO more bad hair days! Yup, I wish for less to no more bad hair days that is why I am on a constant search for the best hair care products for my wavy, dry and color treated hair. As I tried one shampoo after another, read one review after another, I became more aware of ingredients to avoid in a hair care product. One of the simplest shampoo I tried in terms of the number of ingredients in it is the Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo for Dry/ Color Treated Hair. mean Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair Review

Finesse 5 Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair Review

My Take on Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair:

I cannot remember the last time I used a hypoallergenic shampoo; perhaps it was before I entered my teen years. I shared baby shampoos with my siblings until I am ten or eleven! So when I saw bottles of Finesse saying it is clean and simple plus it is hypoallergenic, I immediately wanted to try it. What made me more interested were its claims written on the bottle that it is non irritating which I like since I sometimes develop acne on my scalp, along my hair line and on my back on some shampoos and hair care products. And that it is free of allergens, dyes, sulfates and is dermatologist tested. Sounds really, really good right?

Finesse Clean +Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo comes in 2 variants. One for normal hair and the one I got is for dry, color treated hair. It comes in one size here in our place, in a 295ml bottle. I like how it is simply packaged in a white bottle with aqua cap. It truly exudes simplicity. The shampoo itself is clear or transparent. It does have a mild fresh scent which last the whole day on my hair and even until next wash.

I tried this shampoo alone, no follow up with conditioner to know what it can do to my hair. I am quite happy with it as it can make my hair soft, smooth and still manageable. But of course, using conditioner after shampooing creates best results. With the combo, hair is noticeably softer, smoother and more manageable. mean Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair Review

Finesse 6 Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair Review

I love how mild this shampoo is as it did not cause acne breakouts on my hairline and back. No irritations as well. Though this shampoo is mild, it cleans superbly. I used this shampoo everyday for a month during this hot season and I am so glad that it did not dry my hair out. Love it. It even made my hair looking healthier than it’s state before switch to this brand. My hair dried out a month ago due to hair coloring and this shampoo cared really well for my damaged tresses. mean Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair Review

I am loving how simple this shampoo is. It only has 13 ingredients in it which I find significantly fewer than those in most shampoo brands in the mainstream. It does not have dyes and sulfates. Sulfates are present in most household cleaning solutions and detergents. This allows water and oil to mix together which we cannot do no matter how we shake and stir the two. Most avoid sulfates in their shampoos because it is known to be a grease cutter. It can remove grease, then it can strip hair’s natural oil and devoid scalp of moisture. This in turns triggers oil production in our scalp making it oilier. Though this Sulfate-Free shampoo from Finesse lathers just fine, I find other commercial shampoos to lather better. Not a problem for me as it still cleans well.

Pros of Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair:

• Hypoallergenic. Free of allergens, dyes and sulfates.
• No parabens.
• Makes my hair soft, smooth and manageable.
• Cares for my hair. Does not dry my hair and scalp.
• Cleans superbly.
• Simple, fresh scent that lasts the whole day.
• Affordable for Php200, around Rs 260.

Finesse 3 Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair Review

Cons of on Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair:

• Availability.

IMBB Rating: 5/5

Final thoughts: This is one of my favorite shampoos now and I will keep on repurchasing. I have better hair now so I think I will try the variant for normal hair in the future to see how it differs. I am quite satisfied with Finesse Clean +Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo which proves that less is more. mean Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Shampoo For Dry/ Color Treated Hair Review

My experience with Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist:

This has a pretty tropical green packaging. Has a spray top as this is a hair spray if didn’t mention it before m0447 Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist Review

The smell is really light and I would describe it like a regular perfume. But it doesn’t stay for long and that’s also not what we are looking for in this product anyway. So I tried this after washing my hair as regular hair spray but it didn’t really bring down the tangles or anything. I thought I wasted my money. But then, when I read the instructions later, I was like well; let’s try it their way. Next time I used it after styling my hair and wohoo! I had the glossiest hair ever.

The idea behind making this bad boy work is, you have to use this as a finishing shine spray because this is basically a shine mist. Always use it on dry hair and preferably after styling. The shine stayed on till the next morning when I had to brush my hair all over again but then it did it’s job nicely and I couldn’t be happier about it. :happy dance:

Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner

Hello cutiepies,

So here I am with one more review from the brand “Herbal Essences”. I have a habit of picking up too much stuff when I go shopping and I tend to pick up a lot of shampoos, conditioners and shower gels. The reason I pick up so many is that I can switch to the other one whenever I get bored. This conditioner from herbal essences is for volumizing the hair. My hair have become very thin due to rebonding, so just wanted to check whether this one really gives volume or not. I thought this when I picked up the first bottle. This is my second one. Let’s move to how the product worked for my hair.

HerbalEssencesConditioner Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner Review

Price: Rs 190 for 300 ml

Why we love it:

Serum-infused formula for moisturised softness. Live life to the fullest!! Not to brag, but it’s ok to be a little full of yourself when you see the lusciously bouncy body you’ll keep with this light conditioner. This lightweight conditioner keeps you lifted with soft, manageable locks.

Work it: Massage in, then rinse out this uplifting formula to get everyone’s full attention.

Herbal Essences Volumizing Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner Review

My Experience with Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner:

I am someone who keeps on changing conditioners because I easily get bored with one fragrance. I have a small list of conditioners which I have liked uptil now, so I keep them stocked up and use it whenever I want. So this one is one of those. I have used all herbal essences conditioners and surprisingly I have liked most of them due to their amazing smell and conditioning power. This one comes in an attractive big bright curvy orange bottle. I am sure if one spots this, they will want to see what it is. The bottle is quite big and looks good on the washroom shelf but is difficult to carry as it will occupy a lot of space. The cap is press and open one in parrot green colour.I personally love the way herbal essences design their bottles. It is infused with passion flower sunrise and pearls. It smells very refreshing and has a sweet Hawaiian floral smell. It smells blissful and I don’t need to talk much about the fragrance because everyone knows how amazing these conditioners and shampoos smell. The conditioner comes in a very light orange colour and the consistency is moderately thick.

Herbal Essences Body Envy V Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner Review

Coming to the claims, it gives a little volume to the hair and the volume is noticeable only when you blowdry your hair, when I air-dried my hair I couldn’t notice any volume in my hair. So I use this conditioner only when I plan to blow-dry my hair. It does not give much volume, so it will not get anyone’s attention as they claim lol. But it conditions my hair properly. It does turn my hair smooth and soft, but this is what it is least expected to do as a conditioner, so this one doesn’t do anything amazing or extraordinary. It is a okay one but is good for conditioning normal to dry hair. You can expect a little volume in your hair, nothing more than that.

Pros of Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner:

• Adds a little volume to your hair
• Quantity given is very good
• Affordable
• Available everywhere
• Makes hair smooth and soft
• Has an amazing fragrance

Herbal Essences Conditioner Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner Review

Cons of Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Conditioner

• Did not live upto it claims of giving full bouncy hair
• Loaded with chemicals

Would I repurchase/recommend this one?

No I will not recommend and repurchase this one as this is my second bottle and will not go for a 3rd one and I might look out for other conditioners and shampoos that might give me volume. People with very thin hair can give it a try as it is not that expensive like the other volumizing conditioners.

Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends

Hello sweeties,

The first thing I would say is that this is the one of the best products I have come across. I am glad I bought this one and it really transformed my hair. This is from the brand “Schwarzkopf” from the repair rescue range. The caption  “sealed ends” made me to buy this product. I have been facing this split ends problems for years because of daily damage, rebonding and hair colour. The ends of my hair always look like broom hair and the only option is to chop them off and trust me I don’t like that at all. So this is when the product became my best friend. So let’s see how it worked for me.
Schwarzkopf+Bonacure+Repair+Rescue+Sealed+Ends Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends Review
Price:

Rs. 510 for 75 ml

Product description:

Repair rescue sealed ends mends split ends and prevents them from reforming. BC hairtherapy with cura+protein complex and amino cell rebuild technology seals the cuticle and repairs inside the hair cell. For smoothed ends full of suppleness and shine.
Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends 6 Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends Review
Application:

Work sparingly into the ends. Do not rinse. Salon exclusive.

My experience with Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends:

I have been facing split ends since many years and I have tried all different kinds of products for split end rescue. But all were a failure, they made my hair smooth for a while and then my hair came back to its original state. Then one day I came across this product, I had tried many so I was like I should give this one a chance too. This product comes in a white plastic tube with a red band with all the details and the name written on it. The packaging is indeed very salon-type. The top is a flip-open one in white too and it is very convenient , no issues at all. The only problem is that the tube is not even a little transparent, so you cannot exactly see how much amount of the product is left. It is exactly the size of our palm. A very little pea-sized amount is needed to be applied, if you apply more then the hair will look a little greasy. I normally apply it when I go to sleep from the middle portion of my hair to the ends and then braid my hair.
Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends 3 Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends Review
The texture of the product is very smooth and is moderately thick and comes in a white colour. The smell is amazing and it is kind of a smell which I really don’t know how to describe because it does not have floral or fruity notes like the perfumes lol. I have been using this product sine over a month now and it has done wonders for my damaged ends. It works exactly like a leave-in conditioner. If you apply it and move out of the house, it will help you protect your hair against pollution and you will be back with the same kind of hair that you had when you left home. When I wash my hair the very next day, the ends are very smooth and soft and no feeling of damage when I touch them. This works to mend split endd, rather than to chop the hair off . Now my hair look very healthy from the ends as well and I think my hair have recovered very well from the damage. Yesterday , I forgot to apply this and when I got my ends looked a little rough that is because they were getting rubbed against the pillow cover, but when I apply it overnight, my hair look better immediately in the morning. I am in unconditional love with this product and will keep on purchasing it as soon as it gets over.
Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends 2 Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends Review

Pros of Schwarzkopf Bonacure Repair Rescue Sealed Ends:

-Decently priced
-This quantity will last for 1-2 months even if used everyday.

Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner Review

Hey pretty people!!

Matrix is known for its super amazing affordable hair care products. I have used so many Matrix products that now I have lost count. I used to love the sleek look range, but around last year, they changed the formula and named it “Total Results Sleek Conditioner.” I was pretty skeptical about it, but I thought I would give this a shot.

Matrix+Total+Results+Sleek+Conditioner+Review Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner Review

Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner is a nourishing conditioner, perfect for unruly and frizz prone hair.

This effective conditioner effectively hydrates and smoothes hair, working to repair damage. Frizz is smoothed away and it detangles whilst giving all day humidity protection. Hair is sleek, shiny and manageable.

My Experience with Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner:

I like the tube packaging in conditioners more that the bottle. It is so much easier to use, especially when you have a flip top so that you don’t have to screw the top with your slippery hands. This has a pretty packaging. The tube is kind of bulky but sits nicely on its top.

The consistency is like a regular conditioner, neither too thick nor too runny. The smell is that of Matrix.  I don’t know but I find all the Matrix products smell almost the same and this product is no exception to it.

Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner 4 Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner Review

The best part about this conditioner is that you do not need a ton of product to soak your hair.  You only need a small amount and work your way through all your hair and it effectively covers all hair.  I find its really easy to work this one in your hair because of its smooth and creamy consistency.

I like to leave it on my hair for 5-10 minutes and then wash my hair. I do not apply conditioner in my scalp. So, after I am done rinsing it out, it leaves my hair really soft and tangle free. The only and the most significant disappointment is that it does not do anything to control frizz. I have really wavy hair which curls out near the ends and if I don’t do some sort of frizz control, they give me a bad hair day, but then I would admit, the softness it gives, lasts until the next wash. It did give some volume too which I found pretty impressive.

Overall, I feel if you have frizz-free hair, this will be excellent for you. Otherwise, if you are going to heat style your hair, you can try this. But for me, I do not do any heat styling as I am not allowed to :( so, I need a frizz control treatment after this conditioner.

Pros of Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner:

  • The packaging is good.
  • Nice consistency, which spreads really well into the hair and easy to work into the hair.
  • A little goes a long way, which is an exceptionally remarkable quality for a conditioner.
  • Softens hair and gives volume.
  • Pretty inexpensive.

Cons of Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner:

  • Does not control frizz.
  • Not easily available in India, although some beauty salons do stock it.

Will I Repurchase Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner?

I guess I might try another conditioner.

Do I Recommend Matrix Total Results Sleek Conditioner?

If you have naturally frizz-free hair, and you need volume, this might work really great for you.

6 Homemade Shampoo Recipes

Who doesn’t like the idea of getting gorgeous locks without putting in harmful chemicals on their hair and scalp? If you too like to go all natural then try making your own shampoo at home.

This not only saves you money, it allows you to be in control of exactly what goes into your shampoo. So without any further delay let me share with you some homemade natural shampoo recipes that works great, are inexpensive, and really simple to make.

shampoo 6 Homemade Shampoo Recipes

Coconut Milk Shampoo

Take 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/3 cup Liquid Castille Soap (can be bought online), 1/2 teaspoon of Vitamin E oil, 20 drops of Essential Oils of choice. Combine all ingredients in an old shampoo bottle or jar of some kind and shake well so that all the ingredients can be mixed well. You can store this mixture in the refrigerator for about a month. People with normal hair types can use rosemary, chamomile or lavender essential oils whereas chamomile and jojoba works great for dry hair types.

Note: For dry hair: add 1/2 tsp olive or almond oil too in this mixture

Honey Shampoo

Take 1/4 cup honey, 2 tablespoons mild shampoo of your choice, 2 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon witch hazel, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon almond oil and 1 tablespoon rosewater. Put all the ingredients in a bottle and shake well. Massage into your hair and your scalp well and then rinse out with warm, not hot water. Keep the leftovers in the refrigerator and use the next time you shampoo. This recipe is especially suited for people with oily hair and scalp.

Dried herbs Shampoo

Boil 2 cups distilled or spring water and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes. Now take 10 tablespoons dried herbs of your choice (rosemary and sage are a good choice for dark hair while lavender and nettle can be used for any hair type) and put them in a cup of boiling water. Cover and allow the mixture to steep for 30 minutes undisturbed. Strain the liquid from the pan into a medium sized mixing bowl and add half cup of liquid castile soap, 10 to 20 drops essential oil and 1 teaspoon jojoba oil. Stir vigorously and pour the contents in a plastic bottle. Store the shampoo in the refrigerator and use approximately one tablespoon per application, and shake well before each use.

Egg Shampoo

Put 1 egg, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 tablespoon mild unscented shampoo and 1/2 cup water in a blender and blend until you get a smooth and runny liquid. Put this liquid in an old shampoo bottle and store in the refrigerator for multiple use.

Jojoba oil shampoo for dry hair

Take 1 tbsp mild shampoo, /2 tsp glycerin 1/2 tsp jojoba oil, 1/2 tsp melted coconut oil and 1/4 cup distilled water. Swirl all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl and store in air-tight container. This shampoo will not lather as much as commercial ones but it will clean your hair nicely.

Baking Soda Clarifying Shampoo

Mix 1/2 cup baking soda with 3 cups water (this will make enough for several washings). Store in a plastic or glass container. You can also make it one serving at a time. Mix 1 Tablespoon of baking soda with 1 cup of warm water. Shake well each time you want to use this natural clarifying shampoo. Apply to your scalp and scrub it gently.

My experience with Avalon Organics Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Conditioner:

Hey everyone,

I am here with the conditioner review that I promised in my Giovanni shampoo review. It is the Avalon Organics Tea-tree conditioner and I bought this from an online site about two months back. It is free from SLS and SLES, parabens and is 100% vegan. It also has 70% organic contents so I was really looking forward to using a product which is free of harmful chemicals and additives.

I use this conditioner with my Giovanni Tea-tree shampoo. And this combination has worked really well for me these summers. The shampoo is a thick creamy type which gets spread easily on my hair. But since it said that it is a scalp treatment I went ahead and used it on my scalp too. And this was the first conditioner I ever used on my scalp since most of them have a lot of chemicals and I dare not put them anywhere near my roots and they mostly weigh your hair down badly. But oh boy, I was gladly surprised with this one. I massaged it into my scalp for 2-3 minutes and left it for another one. I did not feel a very prominent tingling or anything( my shampoo gives way more of that)but it was a little cooling and did not feel heavy or so. After that I washed it off and my scalp felt somehow cleaner and just nice. But I was still scared it would make my scalp oil a lot. But it didn’t. My hair was soft and my scalp did not oil at all. Actually it oiled less than before. I went on for three days without having to wash my hair again. My hair was not weighed down at all. And I was very impressed by this.

Avalon Organics TeaTree Sca Avalon Organics Tea Tree Scalp Treatment Conditioner Review

They were smooth to touch and manageable. But obviously it was not the dove smooth, But naturally shiny and smooth. As for the flakes it did reduce them and it helps in itchiness typical of summers.

The packaging is sturdy and I personally like the green bottle. The only problem is that as the conditioner is so thick it takes some work to get it out of the opening. Apart from that the bottle has no leakage or anything like that. Also only a little amount is needed so a one bottle would go a long way.

So I would highly recommend this conditioner for summers as it prevents itching and flakes to quite an extent. Those with dry scalp would love this a lot but people with oilier scalp can give it a try. I have an oily scalp and it worked well for me.
